Counting Pumpkin Seeds
The children enjoyed getting seeds out of their mini-pumpkins. Since we are learning about skip counting, we decided to attempt to count our seeds by groups of ten. Unfortunately, we ran out of time! We did estimate that each pumpkin had more than 200 seeds. Even Mrs. Joyce learned that small pumpkins still have LOTS of seeds!
Halloween STEM Activity
The children enjoyed making houses for their "ghosts" on Halloween. First, they created houses out of cubes, then out of candy corn. The candy corn was not very steady, so the children decided cubes were the best material for ghost houses.
