Students Create their own Bird Nests

The students worked with a partner to create a bird nest out of natural materials.  We first read the story,  "The Best Nest" to show how important nest building is to bird parents.  The children then worked together on their nests. Once they thought their nests were complete,  they were given one egg to "test" their nests.  All of their nests held the eggs well!
