A Shelter for Our Peep

Just in time for Easter, Room 107 students created a "shelter" for their own peep.  Using jelly beans and toothpicks, the children all made different structures.  Since we've completed many tasks like this in the past, many children were able to remember how to make their creation stronger and taller without it falling down.  Of course, we all enjoyed eating jelly beans and peeps once we were done!

It is three more months until my birthday.  Last year I got 110 dollars.  This year I hope to get more.  It is July 29th.  I was supposed to be born on August 17th.  I will be 7.  I will go to Great Wolf Lodge.  I can't wait.  It will be fun.  It's in summer.  So is America's birthday.  That's on July 4th.  I will have chocolate cake.

Making Rainbows

Room 107 learned how to make rainbows, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!  We even went outside to attempt to make rainbows of our own using the sun, a clear cup of water, and white paper.  The children even took home clear cups to try to make rainbows by themselves!

My family will go to Tampa for spring break.  The sand will be white or peach but I think it will be white.  And I might see a jellyfish.

Cool Cascarones!

Our Reading Street story last week was "Mama's Birthday Present,"  and we learned about cascarones, or confetti eggs, being used to help the family celebrate.  We made paper ones first, and then on Friday we placed confetti in plastic eggs.  Eli even had the chance to crack his egg on Mrs. Joyce's head!  😊😊

Did you know?

We discovered that Benjamin Franklin signed the Declaration of Independence.  We enjoyed finding his name and seeing how handwriting has changed since 1776.

More Leprechaun Letters

What is your favorite thing to do?  Do you like water?  What is your favorite food?  How old is your grandfather?  How old is your grandmother?

by Jagger

Dear Leo,

How much money do you have?  I thought you were looking for gold.  Who should I have a play date with?

Love,
Drew

Dear Leo,

Give me some gold and candy please.  Why do you have to go?  How was your day?  I hope it was great.  I loved my day.  What is your favorite day?  Do you have one?  Mine is Saturday.  Is yours?

Ellie

Hi Leo,

I don't want you to go but you have more stuff to do.  I will miss you and the class.  We all hope you don't go, even Leo the lion.  We were glad you were here.  I hope you find gold at the end of the rainbow.  I will try my best to get some for you.

Your friend,
Miyana

How was your day?  How do you move?

Anderson

Dear Leo,

How long are you staying here?  I see you do not like to wear green.  But that is the color of money.  Do you like to wear yellow?  That is the color of gold.

Eli

I like St. Patrick's day.  Be my friend Leo.  I like the green of the shamrock.  Do you like food and water?  Do you like gray, orange, red, white, black, pink, green, purple, blue, yellow?

Christopher

Dear Leprechaun,

When is your birthday?  My birthday is March the 9th.  What is your favorite season?  My favorite season is summer.  I hope you like this letter.

Leo the Leprechaun Visits Room 107

It seems that Leo the Leprechaun has decided to spend some time this March in room 107.  The children are writing letters to him!  Below are some of those letters:

Thank you for writing to us.  I like them.  I like the way you look.  Can you write your friends on the back of this paper, and the place you live?  P.S. You have the name of our lion.

by Drew

Thank you for the paper.  I wanted to write a paper back.  Try to take my shoe.  I really like how you look.  Were you taking a nap?  Good boy.  Leave me some candy.

by Lucas

Hi Leprechaun!  Nice to meet you.  I see a rainbow when it is leprechaun day.  I like you as a friend.

by Payton

I love you leprechaun.  You write neat.  You are the best.  You wear green.

by Anderson

Thank you for asking How was your day?  I hope it was great.  Tell me all about it on a note.  Did you find any gold.  I hope you did.

by Ellie

You are the best leprechaun.  And sleep well.

by Mariela

We will have a great day.  I hope you do too.  I like spring, do you?  I like daffodils too.  I like the shamrock, the kite, and Easter.
