So Many Seeds
The children enjoyed investigating the inside of their pumpkins last week. We thought that smaller pumpkins wouldn't have many seeds, but we were wrong! Most pumpkins had between 300 and 400 seeds. Thank goodness we've learned how to count by 10s, and now we can count by 100s!

Pumpkin Investigation
On Friday, the children worked to measure small pumpkins with a partner. They recorded the weight, the length around the middle, and even tested their pumpkins to see if they would float or sink. Ask your child what they discovered! Next week, they will count the seeds in their pumpkins!

Partner Pattern Block STEM Challenges
The children chose a challenge card and then made a picture out of pattern blocks to meet the challenge.
Some made a lion, car, flower, or train, while others created their own challenges.
The children enjoyed working together and deciding how to build the pictures.
Partner Pattern Bracelets
Students enjoyed working with their math partners to practice patterns. Each student created a pattern using beads and then traded bracelets with his/her partner. Partners then extended the pattern before trading back the bracelets. Another fun learning activity!
